On Wednesday 9th December, some of our students in Years 3 and 4 received the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This had been postponed a number of times as a result of Covid-19. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a sacrament in which the priest, as the agent of God, forgives sins committed after Baptism. Yesterday’s celebration was a special and intimate one. The students took part with great reverence and it was obvious that they had been very well prepared.
This Sacrament asks individuals to reflect on some of the mistakes they have made and when they haven’t treated others as well as they could have. It also provides an opportunity to think about how to make things good again and repair damaged relationships.
Thanks to Mrs Vecchio and Mrs Webb for preparing the students so well. Miss Mangone once again did a terrific job organising this Sacrament and we thank Fr Ralph for conducting the Sacrament and supporting our students on their journey of faith. Thanks also to Fr Leenus for assisting with the celebration of this Sacrament.
