On Sunday 9th of February, many from the school community attended mass to celebrate the Opening of the School Year. During the homily Fr Ralph highlighted our theme for the year, ‘Called to Action’. This is a reminder that while it is important to look after ourselves, as Christians, we also need to be there for others and be ‘salt of the earth and light of the world’.
This is not always an easy task but there are many ways in which we can reach out and assist others. This may involve using our talents and strengths at school, work, home and in the community. Sometimes it may only be a simple or ordinary act that makes a difference to the life of another. We constantly challenge the students at school to think about how they can reach out to others. It is also important for us to demonstrate and discuss with with them what this means.
