Last Thursday students from Years 5 & 6 shared information about Remembrance Day which included a ceremony that involved the last post and a minute’s silence. Students learnt about the history of Remembrance Day and its link to the signing of an Armistice at the end of the First World War. After WWI poppies grew in the battlefields of Europe and today badges and pins are sold to raise money for returned service men and women and their families. All students participated respectfully and hopefully have a deeper understanding of this important day.
Fundraising Champs!
Thanks to those students that assisted with selling Remembrance Day Poppy pins, badges and wristbands. This helps to raise awareness and funds for military personnel and their families. Well done to Adam Lewis and Jessie May Silvester (Prep), who did a tremendous job selling relevant items at the crossing. Adam said that he had 102 customers!!
